History
Celebration of Canine Lives Sanctuary (CCLS) was founded after I spent many years volunteering for no-kill rescue organizations and participating in all aspects of rescue work including but not limited to adoptions, fundraising, dog walking, positive reinforcement training, enrichment activities and public relations.
When CCLS was first incorporated, we had not yet purchased property for the sanctuary; all of our work revolved around helping individuals/families get their pets spayed and neutered. We also helped pet “parents” with funding for other veterinary care their animals needed. Spay/neuter and high-quality medical care is an important aspect of our mission; we work to decrease the number of animals coming into shelters.
We looked for a property for a handful of years with no luck. After viewing hundreds of properties online and close to sixty properties in person, we came across an ideal property in Ischua and we immediately knew that it was the one. We purchased this property in Fall of 2019 and are now in the process of readying the land and the facilities for homeless dogs in need.
Rosie was the first Pit Bull/Bully Breed I got to know. I met her when I was just 16 and she became my best friend. Her unconditional love, positive attitude and gentle soul inspired me to take a stance against breed discrimination and advocate for all dogs.
